As part of its sustainability initiative, the Gabriel-Chemie Group is implementing several strategy programs. One of the first modules is the introduction of a colour range based on Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) polypropylene.
Gabriel-Chemie has been working for some time on the reduction of virgin materials, i.e. the native, fossil raw materials in plastic or masterbatch processing. With a first colourful masterbatch offer from Post Consumer Recycled polypropylene, a milestone in the market has been achieved.
With almost 48,000 trade fair visitors and more than 1,900 exhibitors, the Fakuma once again took a strong stand. Right at the center the Gabriel-Chemie Group presented its modern side and numerous new innovations .
Above all, the latest COLOUR VISION N°19 colour concept impressed with its creative colours, effects and surfaces, as well as with the narrative background of the connoted themes of „Responsibility“ and „Timeline“. True to the motto: with colours at the trend.
At the beginning of September, the annual „Single Serve Capsules“ conference took place in Vienna.
Gabriel-Chemie used the geographical home field advantage and offered capsule producers and leading coffee brands a workshop in-house. Focus topics were colour technology, quality standards and masterbatch technology. As part of the „Single Serve Capsules“ conference, Diego Karpeles presented the possibilities of rapid colour matching for capsules.

In 2009, the in part publicly-funded project SolPol from was launched by the Johannes Kepler University. Together with numerous partners from the industry, the project management focused the research project around the use of polymer materials in solar energy technology. Specifically, it is about solar thermal energy, the technology with which hot water is produced using solar radiation. Current solar thermal systems are made of a variety of materials such as metals, glass, plastic and wood.

The Austrian based Gabriel-Chemie Group has been operating successfully with its own subsidiary in Russia since 2007. Due to the steadily growing business and the increasing demand for masterbatch in Russia and the neighbouring countries of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, it became necessary to adjust the production capacity of Gabriel-Chemie Russia to the future requirements.
