The secret star of the K2019
Tens of thousands of visitors stormed the largest trade fair in the plastics industry - the K2019. The rush on the Gabriel-Chemie booth was incredible and almost overwhelming. All topics presented, from COLOR VISION No.20 to laser marking, were very well received.
The new stand design created a very positive response and lots of great feedback. Special attention was also given to our Virtual Assistant GABi, who presented Master of Colours and Master of Additives in an interactive and animated way. But the secret star of the Gabriel-Chemie booth and according to a few whispers from customers and partners, also one of the stars of the whole show, was TagTec.
TAGGANT TECHNOLOGY – A PIONEERING DEVELOPMENT
Plastic parts can be equipped with an individual DNA, a signature for identity like a fingerprint? Yes, this is actually possible with the new product series TagTec. Special markers or so-called taggants address potential product authentication and possible security concerns. That is why the series is called Taggant Technology Series - in short TagTec.
This ingenious and innovative solution is offered either as predefined application modules, or as a customised solution for specific requirements. An overview of the basic functionality of the TagTec series and a selection of different application options, was presented by Gabriel-Chemie together with the partners ALPLA and Wittmann Battenfeld. As a specialist for the development and production of user-specific sensors Sensor Instruments from Germany presented their competences in the form of the latest TagTec sensors.
This combination of knowledge from the different disciplines to provide a total solution is useful for all stages of a product lifecycle and demonstrates the unique added value. From manufacturing and quality management, to the supply chain or the circular economy of raw materials at the end of a product lifetime - every single step, from production to distribution, is traceable.
Thanks to the success of the exhibition, Gabriel-Chemie‘s cooperations for the K are being intensified and expanded. Numerous inquiries from various areas of plastics development have already resulted in the start of new partner projects. This enable TagTec to secure its place as a product driver of the group-wide sustainability strategy.
